Look back at the presentation of the 2018 Fall-Winter collection in New York. Wednesday, May 9th, MUGLER revealed the very first collection by its new Creative Director, Casey Cadwallader, to American fashion press and to personal friends of the House in an elegant loft in Tribeca made private for the occasion.
With only 8 weeks to complete a 25 pieces debut collection, Casey Cadwallader's first gesture for MUGLER was presented May 9th in downtown New York during an intimate event that brought together, local fashion editors, influencers, celebrities and stylists based in the city.
All were invited to be the first to discover Casey Cadwallader’s first collection for MUGLER by way of an exhibition of photos of the 2018 Fall-Winter campaign in an elegant, minimalist atmosphere.
Shot only a few weeks prior, the 2018 Fall-Winter campaign was the work of the talented young French photographer Arnaud Lajeunie in the two villas designed and owned by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill.
By blending the original spirit of MUGLER’s visual language and my own architectural taste, we have photographed a cast of strong and inspiring individuals in and around two of Bofill’s iconic post-modern buildings: La Fabrica outside of Barcelona, a former cement factory, and his holiday home in Mont-Ras on the Costa Brava.Casey Cadwallader, MUGLER’s Creative Director
A new vision for MUGLER
The cast was made up of an actress, a French swimmer and Olympic medalist, an American rapper, a Scottish artist, a British journalist, a DJ, a producer, young models and top models from the Maison’s golden age, a collective of women which represents an infinite range of possibilities, ages, styles and attitudes for MUGLER today, explains Casey Cadwallader, MUGLER’s Creative Director.
Met with highly enthusiastic reactions, Casey Cadwallader shared the concept of this first collection and his new vision for MUGLER.

For Fall 2018, the garments are themselves an invitation to experiment, which is exactly what I did in taking the reins of a Maison with such a strong tradition of innovation and creativity. By combining Day and Night, this first collection delivers a new vision of femininity through multiple representations of MUGLER’s sculptural DNA, all in a more casual style.
Denim, leather, prints and a myriad of textures enrich the MUGLER vocabulary of audacious tailoring and modern draping - ideas that will continue to evolve before my first runway show next October.
